The Bernardo House, a dwelling from the 50s with exterior courtyard and garden, began its

activity in 2009 with a multipurpose utilisation, regularly presenting visual arts, music and film

projects. The House, as its name suggests, is a space that is mostly geared toward embracing

art producers, rather than being a mere space for the exposition of art. It is not only mostly

dedicated to collectivism, but also toward on-site art production. It wants to be a catalyst or

driving force for modern art, benefitting from its good neighbour, the Art Center of Caldas da

Rainha, a partner in promoting synergies.
