Hoje | Las Divinas no Museu Bernardo

|TEXT| - Las Divinas in English
LAS DIVINAS Art as resistance LAS DIVINAS is an art installation with several pieces inside. We will present some old works and some news especially made for the event. The concept of Las Divinas is based in the relation of the artist with society and life.

always look to ourselves and around us. This is a habit every time we start a new work

we are now in a very difficult moment of our life’s? In the biological and political sense

feel defiant as the same time we feel accursed – feel touching the ground below and looking to the skies that are above us and

ambiguous concepts come to our mind like: we feel like Homo Sacer - it means in Latin - sacred man or accursed man

we walk looking to the ground and our eyes get dusted and search for the perfect balance of moving and dance

in the firmaments above and we see the flying of the hawks, the swallows, the shapes of the clouds, the stars, the sun and the moon,

rain falling in our faces like joy and happiness and haziness coming from … happiness and haziness or pleasure and uncertainty

inconsistency is a good policy for a definition of artists and of a number of people who regard the world and life with a different sense than the average.

Homo Sacer is a person that in Roman Empire is banned and may be killed by anybody, but may not be sacrificed in a religious ritual. Should artists resist to the flow of times or they should let go? What they can do for themselves and for the others and the world they live in?

the Homo Sacer – is excluded from all civil rights, while his/her life is believed “holy” in a negative sense: did artists feel it like that? What could be the distinctiveness of an artist? We mean in terms of political and biological awareness?

Giorgio Agamben describes the homo sacer as an individual who exists in the law as an exile. This suggestion seem close to the feeling we have working and living as an artist in the present Europe. Did we live in exile in our homeland? As southern European citizens we are exiled in our home country?

remember to have dreams where people move around, mostly in gardens, walking naked wit a stone in their heads. Like a funambulist in a circus doing a silent and dumb trick. Artists love to have “naked life’s”?

six or seven rooms filled with artists for three nights doing bare performances mixing biographies and stories of the future – between heaven and earth – invite to the participation of the spectators to come inside this homo sacer world

six or seven places to go directly to a feel of being together

six or seven rooms that are a corridor to no where

six or seven rooms that goes directly to: us
